![]() I'm asking because I feel people would find Mixcraft an odd choice for a Hip Hop producer, but I love the interface and the MIDI tools so much I want to use it (also it's much cheaper than many DAWs at $90)Įdit: One thing I should stress is that I am by no means professional, I haven't figured out the ins and outs of any DAW, though I know FL is powerful, I'm wondering if Mixcraft has the potential to do all I need (maybe with the help of VSTS) in a much more user friendly package. Would mixing/mastering be pretty much the same on any DAW you use? Doesn't it all come down to filtering frequencies and compression (which Mixcraft can do)? Maybe I could use a VST? ( I don't know much about how they work tbh)Īlso another question that's been on my mind. Does anyone use Mixcraft and can tell me how I could easily chop samples akin to FL Studio's Edison (with markers). Mixcraft has a weird jumpy feel to it when I'm trying to slice and chop samples (I can do it, but not as easy as I can on Edison). The only quirk is when I want to use a sample. I've been messing around with Mixcraft 7's trial recently, and first off I love the interface (GarageBand style), and I find making MIDI compositions feels a lot more natural on it. Also I do a lot of sample chopping which works with edison well. Mixing/Mastering with Maximus is a blast though. I dislike the interface, it feels cluttered and I find I can't experiment too much (also making songs in 3/4 time is tricky). I've used FL Studio for a few years, I can make a sample based beat easy on it, I can timestretch, change pitch (though I have to change each individual clip manually). I'll try to make this short but informative
